1. Watch a film of laughter to not get depressed
We know, laughter is the name of great medicine. When you’re sad, don’t look at a smiling picture! You will see that all the stress of the day will be removed, because laughing releases endorphins in the body, which are very important for improving your mood. Moreover, laughing burns excess calories in the body and increases heart-blood circulation to a healthy level.
2. Eat healthy and proper food to not get depressed
Many times our mood can be bad due to a lack of proper amount of nutrients in our diet. Studies have shown that a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins can lead to depression (depressed) and negative mood. According to the results of a study conducted by Finland’s Kuopio University, vitamin B supplement tablets are very effective in treating depression. A controversial study has shown that eating chocolate improves the mind. But chocolate indeed helps release endorphins.
3. Come out of the house to not get depressed
Many times people can suffer from depression due to vitamin D deficiency. Although vitamin D can be found in many foods, the best-known and main source is sunlight. Upset? Walk outside instead of sitting at home. Apply sunscreen. You see, it feels good.
Feeling upset? If possible, go to the gym. Or go jogging. If outside is not possible, move to the roof. If that is not possible, jump rope at home. The point is, to let the body sweat. Sweating will flush out toxins from the body, and your brain will release endorphins and anandamides that will bring you a happy feeling inside. Try to exercise for at least 15-30 minutes every day.
5. Take fragrance or aromatherapy
A good smell is a good regulator of good mood. Many people think that aromatherapy is only used for relaxation. It is also used to relieve depression. If you search the market, you will find oils like bergamot, geranium, neroli, jasmine, etc. You can fill them in a well and burn them at home or, these scented candles are also available in the market. You can burn it at home.
6. Conquer fear
The release of endorphins is very important for happiness in life. For its growth and expansion of your confidence, take up a task that you have been thinking of doing for a long time, but have not been able to do for lack of courage. It may be telling your loved one that you love him, joining the gym, or going abroad to study. Applying for jobs etc. Conquer your hidden fear with a thrill. You will see, you will feel happy without knowing.
7. Speak up to not get depressed
If your depression gets bad enough, talk to someone. Remember, humans are social creatures, and we are never alone. Share your pain with a close friend/parent/sibling/husband/wife or doctor. There is no shame in asking for help. We must always remember this.
8. Do your favorite activities regularly
Different people like different jobs. Some like to curl up in bed reading a storybook with a coffee mug in hand, some like to hang out with friends, some like to light a candle and listen to music at night…etc. Try to do something you like every day. Take care of yourself.
9. Do something for people to not get depressed
Being self-centered all the time is not a characteristic of social beings. There are probably many more people in trouble than you. Bring them to mind. Children are dying in Africa due to a lack of clean water. People of North Bengal are suffering due to cold, street children are selling flowers due to lack of education. However, despite having all kinds of advantages, why should you consider yourself more unhappy than them? Think about them. Try to do something selflessly for them. If you can do something, you will see that you feel good.
10. Try to achieve your goals in life to not get depressed
Everyone has some goal in life. It could be getting fit, joining a dream job, learning how to cook korma-polao, etc. Be it possible or not, try to start the journey to reach that goal. Shift your focus so that you don’t have to focus on your depression. Keep trying, you will see, life is very beautiful, and you will want to live longer then.
